First bank to combine Open Finance with WhatsApp is Brazilian

Because of this, it became possible for customers to carry out the entire process that makes it possible to share data from other accounts with Banco do Brasil through the WhatsApp application.

Open Finance in the messaging app

In order to be able to use the option in the text messaging application, it will only be necessary for the person to type “Open Finance” on WhatsApp, as the whole process will occur automatically and without the need for any intervention human.

This new Open Finance option is allowing financial institutions to have more detailed access to customer finances, generating new possibilities to offer a product or service more specifically to your needs based on this sharing of data.

The president of Banco do Brasil, Fausto Ribeiro, went so far as to say in a note that this WhatsApp offer regarding Open Finance is one of the forms of power offer even more utilities to customers, through a channel that is used daily, so that they can carry out whatever the need transaction.

According to him, about customers who have already granted this authorization to share information with the bank, 90% have already had some benefit achieved thanks to this. Of the 90%, about 77% had received some personalized offer, according to the data that was shared.

About 13% had their registration information updated without having to present any documents or even go to a bank branch.

Banco do Brasil has managed more than BRL 7 billion in balances shared by other banks through the financial planning tool of its application, using the Open Finance function. Because of this, the platform ended up generating savings for its customers that are reaching BRL 2.5 billion.
