New rules for achieving retirement in 2023
With the Social Security Reform, thousands of Brazilians who were very close to requesting their retirement had have to redo their plans, as the rules have been changed, especially with regard to the minimum age to do the order. So check out how the rules turned out for each type of retirement.
Retirement through contribution time
First, it is necessary to remember that the Social Security Reform put an end to retirement based on contribution time. Thus, currently, policyholders who intended to retire under the old rules must follow the minimum age rule.
Therefore, in order to apply for retirement under this rule, it will be necessary to meet the following criteria in 2023: men must have at least at least 63 years of age and 35 years of contribution to Social Security, while women must be at least 58 years of age and 30 of contribution.
Retirement under the points rule
In this case, men and women need to reach a certain score, which will be the result of the sum of age and contribution time. In this way, each year the number of points required increases. Therefore, to retire by this modality in 2023, it will be necessary to meet the following requirements:
- in the case of men: the sum of age and contribution time must total 100 points, in addition to having at least 35 years of contribution to Social Security;
- In the case of women: the sum of age and contribution time must total 90 points, in addition, it is necessary to have at least 30 years of payment with Social Security.
Retirement according to age
In retirement by age, in this year 2022, the woman needs to be 61 years and six months old to get the benefit, while in 2023 that age will be 62 years old. On the other hand, for men, the minimum age of 65 remains. In addition, in both sexes, it is necessary to have contributed for at least 15 years.
