The “Expat Insider” report evaluated 53 destinations based on various indexes, including quality of life, ease of installation, work abroad, personal finances and an “essentials for expatriates”.

Expats living in Mexico are among the happiest in the world, with 90% of them saying they are satisfied with their lives in the country.
They highlight the ease of settling there, the friendliness of the locals and the ease of building a community. Although political stability scores lower, expats enjoy diverse leisure options across the country.

Countries where people are happier
The second best destination for expatriates is Spain, where 87% of people are happy with their lives abroad. The country offers a strong leisure scene, access to recreational sports and a temperate climate.
However, around 1 in 3 expats are dissatisfied with the job market local.

Panama rounds out the top 3, with 81% of expats reporting being overall happy. People who live or have lived in Panama find it easy to make friends, feel secure about their personal finances and enjoy a good quality of life.
Other popular destinations for expats include Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Costa Rica, Philippines, Bahrain and Portugal. These countries excel in areas such as friendliness, adaptability, fun, and life balance. personal and professional, although they may offer fewer career opportunities compared to other destinations.
For career-focused expats, Taiwanit's the place to be, with international workers more satisfied with their jobs compared to peers around the world. They appreciate job security, a strong local economy and fair pay.
On the other hand, the lowest ranked destinations for expats include Kuwait, Norway, Turkey, South Korea and Germany. Expats in these countries report difficulties settling down, making new friends and dealing with the demanding work culture.
Several major destinations also offer digital nomad visas, encouraging global remote workers to start a new life in a different country. This further increases the attractiveness of these destinations for expatriates looking for new opportunities.
