Crackling without bursting in a practical way

Step One: Prepare the Belly

Traditionally, crackling is made with pieces of pork belly, which is one of the tastiest cuts of pork. So, start the process by cutting the belly into small pieces, which are perfect for crackling. Afterwards, clean them with a few drops of lemon and season with salt, black pepper or any other spice of your choice and let it rest for 15 minutes.

After that time, take all the pieces and take them to a container with a lid, and then add the wheat flour. To mix well, you must use your hands, and remember that you don't need to coat too much, as a thin layer of flour is enough. Now that the pieces are ready, let's get to the frying, which for many is the hardest part.

Fry the crackling

The frying part of the crackling is not complicated at all, as long as you follow all the steps without skipping any. So, first put the oil to heat, and don't forget to put enough to fry. Furthermore, it is very important that the oil is very hot so that the pork rinds fry quickly. This will ensure that the snack is very dry and, consequently, very crunchy, just the way we like it.

In this way, start putting the pieces of belly little by little in the oil, without leaving the pan with too many pieces, as you need room to fry. Then, toss and turn each of the cracklings to ensure the pieces are browned on both sides and to prevent them from burning. Finally, when you notice that it is golden, you can remove it, because it is ready. Now it's just delight!
