The survey was conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs, LLC (Ipsos) for CS Mott Children’s Hospital in October 2021. To carry out this study, fathers and mothers with at least one child aged between one and 18 years were randomly interviewed. 96% of these parents answered that the holidays are very happy times, but they are also very stressful.
Some points of the vacation end up causing a lot of stress and anxiety in the parents, such as finances, keeping the children healthy during this period, shopping and hosting the family.
23% of the mothers who participated in the survey said that having their children at home during the vacation school can be very stressful and 14% of parents agree with this statement. One in three parents are relieved when the school holiday period is over and their children have to go back to school.
The return of the children to school means, for parents, that there is no longer any need to do far-fetched planning, nor to spend energy thinking about the children's fun. It's like some activities are inactive this back to school.
The routine without vacations ends up being less stressful and tiring for parents. Finally, 71% of parents believe that having time for themselves can significantly reduce their stress level.
