The feature is now available to most users and can be used in photo and video comments (Reels). The news was announced by Adam Mosseri, head of the platform on his Instagram profile.
So far, the action can only be done through cell phones. That is, for those who like to use the Meta application on their computer, it is still not possible to send GIFs directly in posts, not even in directs.
How can I send GIFs?
Operation is simple. For those who are already able to enjoy it, the resource accompanies Giphy's library of animated images, which was purchased by Goal still in 2020, in a deal estimated at US$ 400 million, at the time. Therefore, all GIFs that you want to add to publications must be present in this location.
In the photo released by Instagram, it is shown how the Insert Image button should be exposed for everyone.
Notice that in the right corner, the person is in a Reels comment tab. Note that an option to insert the GIF appears. Clicking on it, it is the image on the left that should match – the one that shows the available library options. Then, users have the option to search for the media they want to enter in the comments tab and enjoy it however they see fit!
