People who should avoid drinking coffee as much as possible
- Pregnant and lactating women: Pregnant women should consume no more than 200 milligrams of caffeine per day. This recommendation aims to reduce the chances of miscarriage or premature birth. In addition, this substance is diuretic, which can cause dehydration in mothers.
- People with glaucoma: Coffee can induce an increase in eye pressure, which is harmful to the patient.
- People with a heart condition: This drink causes temporary increases in blood pressure or heart rate and is harmful to people with heart problems.
- People with gastrointestinal problems: Caffeine is associated with esophageal sphincter loosening and bowel regularity. It should therefore be avoided, especially by people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or who have diarrhea.
- Anxious and prone to panic attacks: Coffee often causes symptoms similar to panic attacks and anxiety. So it's better to avoid them.
