According to a survey carried out by Neoenergia, an energy supplier in the Federal District and in states across the country, more than 140,000 people are entitled to benefit.
This is the Electric Energy Social Tariff (TSEE), which offers certain people a discount of up to 65% on the energy tariff. However, these people do not enjoy their right.
Criteria to participate
To qualify for the benefit, three criteria must be met by those who want to claim this right. First, the individual must be registered with the
CadÚnico, the Government program for social programs such as Bolsa Família.Another obligation is to have an active NIS (Social Identification Number). The last criterion is monthly family income, which must be less than half a minimum wage (R$651) per person.
Anyone who, despite having an income of less than one and a half minimum wages, does not have a registered NIS, just look for a CRAS. CRAS is the acronym for Social Assistance Reference Center, which has a unit throughout the city.
Other participants who fit
Families with elderly or people with disabilities who already receive the Continued Benefit are also entitled to assistance.
Families with an income of up to three minimum wages with one of the members having a chronic pathology are also entitled.
