We often see news about new functions and uses of artificial intelligence. As is the case with ChatGPT, probably the most talked about technology at the moment, which can be used for various tasks, simulating thoughts, translating and writing texts.

However, certain people express concern about the advancement and spread of these technologies. Experts in the field say that artificial intelligence can bring real harm if used by unprepared or malicious people.

Microsoft employee believes AI will bring harm

In a speech, during a meeting of the World Economic Forum, last Wednesday, Michael Schwarz, from Microsoft's economics department, spoke a few words. He voiced concern about advancing the capabilities of AIs, and said that real harm could be done by them.

He said, "And, yes, it will do real damage."

Microsoft is a major investor in OpenAI

Michael's comments are surprising, since Microsoft is the main investor in OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT. Other Microsoft executives have already voiced opinions contrary to Michael's, with a more optimistic tone regarding the advancement of AI.

For Michael, AI needs to receive some kind of regulation through law, but without impeding the development of technologies. He believes that the benefits, such as the automation of several tasks, should be valued, but that we must beware of the boundaries that AI is pushing to avoid the real dangers of AI.
