In its publication in reddit, she wrote that her and her fiance's family members are many, with around 100 to 150 family members attending the ceremony in total. She also reported that the couple decided to pay for the entire wedding, with the help of their grandmother.

The bride explained, “We have a lot of children in our family, so we decided not to make it child-free, but we decided to make it dry. Therefore, there will be no alcohol of any kind at our wedding.” She continued her speech: “Actually, we only drink water. We rarely, if ever, drink soda; so most of the time it's just water with one or the other juice and milk. We don't even drink coffee."

The food part of the wedding wasn't being paid for by the grandmother, so she and the groom decided to bet on the options. They made sure, however, that, as for drinks, they would only provide water for the guests to drink.

"We don't want to have to pay for alcohol or soda, it's just a huge additional expense when we can just make filtered water for MUCH cheaper cost," explained the bride.

When family and friends of the couple found out about the water-only policy, they were pretty upset. While some didn't mind, others accused the bride of being "boring" and having an equally boring ceremony.

The bride was quite indignant and said: “I didn't think that would be a problem! It's just water. I mean, don't most people drink water every day anyway? Should we pay extra for sodas to make the family happy?”

Most Reddit users criticized the girl

One user commented: "I know technically you might be right, but here's the problem with weddings, the wedding ceremony is not just for you and your fiancé."

“The wedding is for everyone you invited, it is an event you are organizing, not providing no beverage other than water makes you a lousy host/hostess,” commented another. user.
