According to Júlio, he saw the driver approaching at high speed and let him pass them. After a traffic jam, the two met and the victim overtook the vehicle again. That's when the driver caught up with them again and the vehicles collided.
“He started to drag my car, but I managed to stop. As he couldn't, he ended up overturning”, said the young man. According to Júlio, “he [another driver] opened a can of beer in front of the firefighters to, according to him, celebrate life”.
Police saw no signs of drunkenness in driver who opened beer can
To the Mais Goiás portal, the Federal Highway Police (PRF) said that the driver who caused the accident was invited to take the breathalyzer. However, he refused. The text also states that the police officers who responded to the incident did not notice any clear signs of drunkenness.
Public security agents also reported that they did not witness the moment he opened a can of beer.
The driver's vehicle was released, as well as its driver. However, he was fined for not wanting to take the breathalyzer test, which would indicate – or not – his possible drunkenness.
no injured
The Military Fire Department was also heard by the report. According to the corporation, Julio's girlfriend was trapped in the hardware. The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) took her to a health unit.
Neither she nor Julius were seriously injured.
