Nubank launches 'Pix no credit', a service that will end the overdraft

The customers of Nubank will have access to a new function of the digital bank with the potential to revolutionize the way we use the overdraft. It will now be possible to transfer via Pix using the credit card even when there is no balance in the account.

This operation does not affect the card limit and the amount transferred is included in the open invoice. In this way, the beneficiary of the transfer receives the value of the Pix without noticing differences in the transaction.

It is important to point out that this new functionality of the Nubank offers users an additional limit, customized according to their financial profile and relationship with the bank.

This limit can be used exclusively in transactions via Pix or payment of installments. This way, customers have more flexibility to make payments, even if they don't have cash available at the time.

With the aim of offering more financial autonomy to customers, Nubank allows the transfer via Pix using the credit card to be paid in full or up to 12x.

According to Jeremy Selesner, director of the cards area at Nubank, this initiative aims to provide greater freedom of choice for customers in paying bills and carrying out transactions financial.

Is it the end of the overdraft?

With the introduction of Pix on credit, many believe that the use of traditional overdraft can be reduced, since Nubank does not offer this option in its payment account.

According to information from Procon-SP, the average overdraft rate reached 7.96% per month in May, close to the maximum limit of 8% per month established by the Central Bank.

This new modality of Nubank allows customers to avoid the high overdraft fees, offering a more accessible and flexible alternative for managing their finances.

Before using this new functionality, it is essential to point out that the operation is similar to a short-term loan, incurring interest and IOF (Tax on Operations) Financial). For more information about the new banking product, check out the Nubank app.
