Even before the launch of the iPhone 15, scheduled for this year, the “hype” for the launch of the iPhone 16 has already begun. The new Apple device is expected to arrive in 2024.
According to insider Ross Young, who works in the smartphone supply chain in the United States, the Pro Max version of the iPhone 16 will have a nearly 7-inch screen.

In a post made on his Twitter account, Ross reported that the iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.2-inch screen, while the Pro Max version will feature with a 6.8-inch display, reaching the position of the largest iPhone of all time and joining the list of the largest smartphones in the present.
For comparison, the current iPhones 14 Pro and Pro Max have 6.12 inches and 6.69 inches of screen respectively.
Expected to launch in 2023, the iPhone 15 will most likely have variants with 6.1-inch (Pro) and 6.7-inch (Pro Ultra) screens.
There are currently some smartphones with screens as large as the future iPhone 16 Pro Max, such as the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, which also has a 6.8-inch screen, and foldable devices, which have screens over 7 inches, in average.
Bigger and better are not always synonymous
The new smartphones with giant screens are not unanimous among users. While many prefer larger devices because they are better for consuming content, others claim that large screens are only comfortable for those with large hands.
On the other hand, it is worth noting that the larger the screen, the larger the device, which, with more space of housing may have more increments in its hardware, like better camera mechanisms, bigger battery, etc.
In any case, new updates on the iPhones 15 and 16, as well as news related to iOS, the Apple's operating system, are expected in June at WWDC 2023, Apple's conference for developers.
