From time to time, WhatsApp is updated and modernized. This is how new functions – some, by the way, much requested by the public – become part of our daily lives. However, this comes at a price: the app stops working on some phones.
That's what will happen from this Wednesday, May 31st. WhatsApp will update itself once again and, with that, it will stop working on 32 mobile devices: from Apple to Huawei – see the complete list below.

The app is expected to lose support on devices running Android versions 4.1 or lower and iOS 12 or lower.
Why does it happen?
As mentioned above, the tool is updated frequently to make the experience even better. With this, there is a new range of functionality that is not compatible with older operating systems.
In this way, for almost purely hardware reasons – that is, the physical limitations of the cell phone's processor – it is not possible to continue with the application.
It is good to point out that it is not exclusive to WhatsApp. Netflix, YouTube, Instagram and several other apps also stop operating on older devices for the same reason.
Unfortunately, there's nowhere to run. If your mobile device is on the list below and you want to continue using WhatsApp, you will need to purchase a new device. Even because, eventually, there will come a time when you won't even be able to update your operating system.
