Professor Átila Trapé, from the School of Physical Education and Sport of Ribeirão Preto at USP, says: “I believe that there is not such a great specificity related to the exercise, but in general thinking that the most important thing is not to add overload to a movement that is not going well accomplished. This is from the point of view of technique and joint mobility. CrossFit has a series of more complex exercises that the student will only perform when he is prepared”.
Thus, despite its many benefits, a training of crossfit executed without technique or supervision of an experienced teacher can injure the student. The teacher explains that the beginner student must be calm when progressing not only with the exercise load, but also when performing the more advanced movements. He points out that, in the beginning, it is important to carry out a basic training before moving on to more complex exercises that need greater body awareness.
Rest
Another tip that the teacher gives is rest. He says: “It's important to respect rest, especially when the student has a lot of muscle pain. It means that the muscle is in the process of recovery and in the beginning this pain tends to appear more”.
He added, “One suggestion is that the student start by practicing on alternate days. Over time, as the organism adapts, it will realize that it will be able to do two yes days and one no. It is important to observe this type of situation”.
Precautions when performing other physical activities
Although they are different movements and exercises, activities such as volleyball, soccer, basketball or other sports also imply physical exhaustion. Therefore, it is important to be aware of the days of rest and rest after an intense CrossFit workout, so as not to overload your body and impair muscle recovery.
