The controversies about misleading advertisements made by big brands doesn't stop! This time, the company that entered the controversy was Nestlé. The company was notified last Tuesday (7) by the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon).
The products that do not seem to match the advertising presented to consumers are the Oat and Honey cookies; Nesfit Milk and Honey; Nesfit Cookie Cocoa, Oats and Honey; Nesfit Morning Honey with Almonds.

According to the Minister of Justice, Anderson Torres, “one of Senacon's principles is the protection of consumer health and safety. This action covers regulated services, correct information to society and after-sales of products and services”.
The complaint was made due to the lack of ingredients advertised on the package. According to Idec (Brazilian Institute of Consumer Protection), the biscuits did not have the honey mentioned on the packaging among their ingredients, and this ends up being misleading advertising.
The Nestlé company will have to prove the presence of the ingredient in the composition, and if it does not respond to the notification in time, it may suffer from an administrative process.
The objective of this operation is to offer the consumer true information about the ingredients, mainly about the amount of total sugars. This information is defended in the regulation of nutritional labeling of packaged foods, which was prepared by the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA).
The case joins those of McDonald's, Burger King and Coca-Cola, which in the last month also suffered from complaints and notifications from the procon, due to the same case of false advertising. In recent times, the inspection bodies are attentive to cases like these, and we can expect even more companies to be framed in the matter.
