A new 'travazap' link is circulating among WhatsApp users for Android, which seems much more powerful than its predecessors.
As the name implies, travazap is a malicious message that contains virus codes and is intended for conversations made via WhatsApp (group or individual).

It is enough for the user to click on the link and their WhatsApp crashes, needing, in most cases, to be uninstalled from the device and then reinstalled.

In advance, it is worth mentioning that the notorious travazap is a problem only for users of the Android operating system. That is, those who use iOS can be carefree. Those who use Meta's web application are also safe — at least as of this writing.
The moment's work
As for the travazap that is circulating now, it is a shortened link called “wa.me/settings”. At first glance, the URL gives the impression that it is a simple redirect to the WhatsApp settings page.
However, when users click on the conversation where the link is, the messenger enters a “crashing” loop. In other words, a bug in the system causes the program to hang until there comes a time when the application is restarted.
When re-entering WhatsApp, the user will be able to access other conversations no problem. However, if you click on the one that forced your device to restart, the crash will repeat. This issue may affect users of the regular and Business versions of WhatsApp.
Step by step to solve the crash
- Enter WhatsApp Web;
- If you don't have your cell phone logged in, log in and scan the QR code;
- Scrolls to the conversation containing the URL;
- Delete the message.
After this, it is expected that the crash will cease, once the source of the problem has been remedied.
