To reach this conclusion, the researchers gathered around 25,000 Chinese and American people. Thus, the water level in the bodies of both populations was analyzed, relating them to their hours of sleep. Thus, it was found that those who slept less had dehydration, when compared to those who slept the recommended hours.

However, this does not mean that people who sleep less are less likely to drink water or feel thirsty. In fact, the study suggests that dehydration is independent of the amount of water a person drinks. That is, the more you sleep, the better your ability to absorb liquids, and the opposite happens with those who suffer from insomnia, for example.

According to the study, around 16% to 59% are more likely to be in a situation of insufficient hydration. On the other hand, the importance of eight hours of sleep was also highlighted, which would be ideal for keeping the body rested and also hydrated.

feeling unwell

The study also related the difficulty of absorbing liquids by those who sleep little with the feeling of malaise the next morning. In this case, there would be a relationship with the hydration factor, since the lack of water in the body also generates restlessness and changes people's disposition. Therefore, the two factors would add up to disrupt concentration and generate more fatigue. It is worth reading this complete study and knowing more about the deficiencies that our body suffers from the sleep ordeal.
