The books that will give rise to a feature film and a series are different works. “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is the newest series on Netflix
The book by Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez will become an original series on Netflix. The author, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, is responsible for one of the most widely read novels in world history. No wonder it's now being adapted for the small screen.
The novelty, told by Francisco Ramos, Vice President of Content at Netflix in Latin America, is involving a range of professionals to adapt it. It is counting on special help from Colombian directors and scenographers. So far, Francisco has released the names of the two directors responsible for the first season of the plot. Alex Garcia and Laura Mora.
The former has even directed Netflix productions, such as The Witcher.

The film is already a bet in the race for the 95th edition of the Academy Awards and should compete in the category of Best Foreign Language Film. The film will be recorded in German.
