Brazil stands out in the Traditional and Contemporary Gin categories
The O'GIN Brazilian Dry, from Destilaria Don Luchesi, in Minas Gerais, was the highlight of Brazil, being one of the winners in the category of Traditional Gin. In addition, he appears as the only winner of the Americas in the category.
Ivaí Hibisco and Lichia Gin, from Destilaria Água da Glória, in Paraná, was one of the winners in the flavored Contemporary Gin category.
Evaluation that awarded the Brazilian gins
The competition is held in the UK and is an independent global guide to the drink, edited by writer and spirits consultant Paul Jackson. Each gin is evaluated by expert judges with experience in gin distillation, marketing, events, mixology, distribution, import and retail. They are blind tasted and scored according to key elements such as: appearance, aroma, flavor, balance, mouthfeel, finish, tonic (in selected categories) and overall appeal.
It is also worth remembering that the Ivaí line, from Paraná, also recently won gold and silver medals at the European Spirits Challenge, one of the most important distillate competitions in Europe. As a result, Brazilian gins continue to stand out in the world market and consolidate their position as quality products with a differentiated taste.
