Violence in schools: e-book addresses statistics and suggests preventive measures

Facing the wave of attacks and violence in schools, the socio-emotional education program LIV (Intelligent Life Laboratory) published preventive and supportive guidelines to help the school community.

The main objective was to contextualize the complex scenario that is invading schools in Brazil and around the world.

The educational program points out in its introduction that addressing issues ofviolence in schools it is a necessary action.

In an interview with the Brazil Agency, the program’s pedagogical supervisor, Thauanne Rocha, reinforced that the digital book “has the objective of thinking about the perception of the phenomenon of violence, because it is something very complex”.

In the last 21 years, Brazil has suffered 23 attacks on Brazilian schools. A portion of these crimes were committed by students and former students of the attacked school units.

The LIV digital book addresses these and other data made available by institutes and universities to highlight the importance of observe the students and promote a welcoming school environment.

Rocha reaffirms in the interview that everyone who interacts with students inside and outside the school is part of the school community and can be welcoming, listening and communicating references.

It is important to perceive signs, be aware of the interests and changes in behavior of children and adolescents as these behavioral and emotional indications appear in all age groups of life school.
