An innocent cup of coffee between pilots at the control panel of a aircraft (cockpit) may seem harmless, but the practice is a serious breach of security. A case like this caused an airline to suspend two pilots who had a snack on the plane while flying at an altitude of 11,000 meters.

After snacking in the cockpit, pilots received a suspension from the airline

Aviation safety regulations in most countries require that pilots must maintain full attention throughout the flight. Due to the fact that they transport people, that is, lives, at all times through the air, any distraction of the pilots can generate a catastrophe.

Therefore, eating in the cockpit is a practice vehemently prohibited by airlines in order to preserve the safety of the crew.

However, two pilots of the Indian airline SpiceJet failed to respect safety regulations and simply decided to have a quick snack in the cockpit.

Pilots snacking in the cockpit

Flying at an altitude of 11,000 meters, the company's Boeing 737 traveled from Delhi to Guwahati, both Indian cities. However, the most unusual fact of the route was a simple snack for the pilots.

In the cockpit, the professionals recorded a photo of the moment they snacked on what appears to be two pastries and a cup of coffee. As previously stated, the presence of food in the cockpit is illegitimate, as well as drinks. If there is a cup, it must have a lid, which is not the case with the pilots' coffee cup, as you can see in the Publication:

The pilots suffered consequences

The pilots were suspended by the airline after the negative repercussions of the incident. The image quickly spread across the social media, generating concern among Internet users.

However, SpiceJet did not disclose details about the duration of the suspension, nor information about training and special training for pilots. But a company spokesperson said that after investigations into the case are completed, appropriate disciplinary action against employees will be taken.
