The History of Bel Air
Based on one of the most famous series of the 1990s, the drama tells the story of young Will (Jabari Banks), who leaves Philadelphia to live with his uncles in a mansion in Bel-Air, in the city of Los Angeles, California. However, this change ends up transforming the boy's life, who starts to live a completely different reality.
The series “Um Maluco no Pedaço”, whose original name is “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”, was a comedy sitcom that, although it featured episodes with issues of gun violence, discrimination and absent fathers, it was based on the humor. Therefore, the new version will be different in this sense, as it is presented in the drama genre. In addition, the episodes are longer, at an hour in length, and only have the basic idea of the original series.
Thus, the story dives deeper into the real conflicts surrounding a West Philly boy uprooting his life and moving in with his upper-class relatives in California. As a reboot of Um Maluco no Pedaço, the series seeks to bring back classic characters such as Vivian, Carlton, Ashley and Hilary.
