Hot dog

The nutritionist says she tends to avoid eating hot dogs because they are high in salt and saturated fat. Instead, they prefer healthier options like tofu, which is a good source of protein, or tuna rice cakes sprinkled with nori, which is rich in essential minerals.

Hamburger

Fast food burgers are known to contain unhealthy high levels of salt, trans fat and saturated fat. The nutritionist prefers to opt for healthier alternatives, such as tofu burgers. Tofu burgers are paired with crispy brown rice and edamame bean fritters for a delicious and nutritious option.

Soft drinks

Another food that the Japanese nutritionist says she prefers to avoid consumption on a regular basis are soft drinks. That's because soft drinks are too sugary, leading to an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Instead, she says she prefers refreshing, healthy drinks like iced matcha or green tea like hojicha, which are low in caffeine.

Candy

In pursuit of a balanced diet, you don't have to say goodbye to all sweets. By taking a mindful approach, it's still possible to satisfy your sweet tooth by making healthier choices. Dark chocolate, for example, not only pleases the palate, but is also rich in disease-fighting antioxidants.

However, it is important to limit your consumption of sweets that are sugary and high in cornstarch, as they can be harmful to your heart and brain.
