Bharat Jain

Growing up in poverty and without access to a formal education, Bharat found in begging a way to support his family and overcome the difficulties he faced. Today, he owns a luxurious two-bedroom apartment, in addition to owning two stores that earn him an extra monthly income of US$ 363 (R$ 1730) through rent. With this income, Bharat is able to send his children to a convent school, offering them opportunities that he himself did not have.

Despite his family's pleas for him to give up the practice, Bharat continues to dedicate 10 to 12 hours a day to begging, frequenting strategic locations such as the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station and the Azad sports field Maidan.
