Professor Edson Pisani Municipal School
Competing in the “Community Collaboration” category, the Edson Pisani School, located in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, has an educational project that mobilizes students, residents, families and local politicians to debate, plan and coordinate activities and improvements in local communities, such as Aglomerado da Serra.
With architecture, legal assistance, sustainability and quality of life projects, the school managed to bring people together and mobilize resources for everyone.
Full-time High School Joaquim Bastos Gonçalves
The School of Carnaubal, Ceará, is participating in the “Support for Healthy Living” selection. Its social and educational role was mainly thought out during the pandemic. During this period, many students needed emotional support.
Thus, the “Support a Student” project was developed to raise awareness of mental health issues and provide a support structure for vulnerable students. The project is still in progress and the result of the initiative has been better school performance, self-esteem and well-being.
Jaime Tomaz de Aquino Full-time High School
In the “Environmental Action” category, we have the Jaime Tomaz de Aquino Public High School, located in Beberibe, Ceará. The highlight of the school is its involvement with sustainable development initiatives. Since 2019, the school has participated in the Sustainable School Seal Program, a government project that combines education, quality of life and environmental actions.
The following are addressed in the school curriculum: waste awareness, nature preservation, conscious use of energy, renewable technologies and classes in PET bottle recycling environments.
Municipal School of Basic Education Teacher Maria Aparecida de Souza Almeida Ramos
For presenting actions aimed at the environment, the community and health, the public school in Jundiaí, in São Paulo, won a place in the category “Support for Healthy Living”.
Among the main actions of the kindergarten, Profª Maria Aparecida de Souza Almeida Ramos, we have: assistance to the vulnerable population, use aware of water and energy, composting classes, maintenance of a vegetable garden to inspire students and incentives to plant organic gardens in the homes of families.
Camino School
The only private school on the list, Camino School is located in São Paulo and participates in the “Innovation” category. With a trilingual teaching proposal (Portuguese, English and Spanish), the institution does not follow the model of traditional classes, promoting socio-emotional development and believing in learning and experience. In addition, about 25% of students are scholarship holders.
Its innovative methodology creates the opportunity to educate students for the real world, through their questions and practical experiences about different knowledge.
