Forecast is for heavy rains in more than 140 cities in the North and Northeast

According to a recent statement from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), an orange severity warning was issued due to heavy rains in 141 cities in the North and Northeast of Brazil. The alert is essential for residents of areas and risks to stay alert regarding the guidelines of local authorities.

According to Inmet, the heavy rain warning will remain in effect until tomorrow, May 13, at 10 am. Heavy rains are expected, between 30 and 60 mm/h, or between 50 and 100 mm accumulated over the course of the day. In addition to heavy rains, it is important to note that winds with speeds between 60 and 100 km/h are also expected, coinciding with the occurrence of heavy precipitation during this period.

  • Belém Metropolitan Area;
  • West of Maranhão;
  • Center of the Amazon;
  • South of Amapá;
  • South of Roraima;
  • Southeast of Pará;
  • Northeast of Pará;
  • Marajó;
  • Lower Amazon;
  • North of Roraima;
  • North of Amapá;
  • Southwest of Pará.
