Extended! Call for the Fies list was postponed to June 2

According to the Ministry of Education (MEC), the deadline for summons through the waiting list of the selection process for the first semester of the Student Financing Fund (Fies) was extended to the 2nd of June.

Originally, this stage of the selection process was scheduled to end on May 18, last Thursday. MEC made this decision in order to ensure that more students have the opportunity to participate in the program and obtain funding for their studies.

Ministry of Education releases first call for Prouni 2023

The Ministry of Education (MEC) has so far carried out seven calls for candidates on the Fies Fund waiting list since the beginning of the selection process on March 21. The new date was defined by Notice No. 5, published in the Official Gazette (DOU) on May 18. This extension seeks to allow more students the chance to participate in the program and obtain educational funding.

Meet Fies

Fies is a program of the Ministry of Education (MEC), of the Federal Government. Established by Law nº 10,260, of July 12, 2001, the main objective of Fies is to offer financing to students of undergraduate courses in private higher education institutions that participate in the program and have a positive evaluation in the Signals.

The program seeks to enable low-income students to access and remain in higher education, contributing to the democratization of higher education in the country.

To enroll in Fies, the candidate must have taken any Enem test from 2010 onwards. In addition, it is necessary to have achieved an average score of 450 points or more in the tests, as well as to obtain a score higher than zero in the Enem essay.

It is necessary that the Fies candidate has a gross monthly family income of up to three minimum wages per person. This measure is intended to ensure that the program primarily benefits students facing greater financial difficulty, enabling access to higher education through funding student.
