Announced more than a month ago, the new WhatsApp message archiving tool has reached users. Now archived conversations in messenger will be permanently hidden. That is, they will not return to the home screen after a new notification.
The announcement was made by the company itself through Twitter.“We know that not everything always has to be front and center for you. We want to make sure WhatsApp stays in a private and safe place where you can talk to people. people who are most important to you and where you control your messages,” reads the post on the Whatsapp.

Also in June, WhatsApp started testing the tool on the platform. Called “New Archive”, the feature allows you to permanently archive chats. The feature makes it easy for the user to hide an unwanted or private conversation.
Released first for iOS users (iPhone), the function is available for Android. Archived chats will now have their notifications muted. Conversations will also not be automatically unarchived when a new message arrives.
To use the newly enabled feature, it is necessary to activate the function. For this, the “Conversations” tab in the application settings must be accessed. Then it is necessary to activate the functionality “Keep archived chats”.
If you want to deactivate the tool, the user just needs to reverse the action. With that, WhatsApp starts to operate as before. Thus, with each new message received in an archived conversation, it ends up returning to the list of conversations on the main screen.
The change is present in the latest version of the messenger on the Play Store. However, it should reach the devices gradually.
Message archiving utility
The application makes it possible to archive a conversation, whether between two users or even a group. In this way, the conversation is removed from the main screen and is “hidden” inside a folder in the app.
However, whenever that conversation receives a new message, it returns to the main screen and is visible again. With the new function, then, this would not happen, even with notifications, the messages will remain in the files.
Thus, the application allows more privacy to the customer who wants to make it difficult for any exchange of messages seen by third parties. This is yet another update that demonstrates WhatsApp's concern for information security and privacy.
