Hannah Bird, 24, was the young woman who suffered through it all. In March, she began to experience severe pain in her chest and back, which resulted in pneumonia.

Also, her weight has dropped considerably without her being on any kind of diet. Later, while having an X-ray of her lungs, Hannah was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
But what is non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL)?
According to the National Cancer Institute, the
non-hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) is a type of cancer that originates in the cells of the lymphatic system and spreads in an uncontrolled manner.Studies report that the tumor can start anywhere in the body, as lymphatic tissue is found throughout the body. In Hannah's case, the tumor occupied 3/4 of the organ and the NHL had metastasized.
Lymphoma can have the following symptoms:
- Itchy skin;
- Excessive night sweats;
- Weight loss;
- Enlargement of the lymph nodes in the neck, armpit and groin.
Treatment
Because it was still a new case for doctors and researchers, Hannah ended up being very lucky and was accepted into a clinical trial at the hospital and was treated with immunotherapy associated with chemotherapy.
This type of treatment helps the immune system recognize and attack cancer cells.
Hannah's treatment results
After half the treatment time had passed, the young woman's cancer had already shrunk by 80%. When it was September 2022, Hannah finished therapy and the lymphoma was gone.
