Fies 2023: MEC announces funding vacancies for Brazilian states

Last Thursday, the 2nd, the Ministry of Education (MEC) announced the openings of the Student Financing Fund (faithful) for each Brazilian state. To compete for funding vacancies, candidates must access the Single Access Portal by March 10 and comply with the rules established to compete. Check out the article and learn more.

Ministry of Education releases first call for Prouni 2023

Fies, announced by Law n° 10.260/2001, carries out student financing for those who wish to enter higher education. They are private universities that participate in the process and, in order to enter, the student must be approved by the National Higher Education Assessment System (Sinaes).

In all, 67,301 vacancies will be allocated to 1,389 private institutions of higher education to finance graduation. Registration will begin on March 7th, this week, extending until March 10th.

The disclosure of the result, according to the calendar, will take place on March 14, during the week following the opening of registration.

Fies 2023

To apply, the student must have taken the Enem (National High School Examination) test from 2010 onwards. The test grade average should be 450 and not have zeroed the writing test.

The family gross monthly income must be a maximum of 3 minimum wages.

Of the vacancies, the states of Bahia, Minas Gerais and São Paulo offer the opportunity in greater quantity. Roraima, Acre and Amapá are the states that appear with the lowest number of vacancies. Check out the full list!

  • Paraíba: 2,408 vacancies;
  • Pernambuco: 4,205 vacancies;
  • Piauí: 1,848 vacancies;
  • Rio Grande do Norte: 1,404 vacancies;
  • Sergipe: 972 vacancies;
  • Acre: 321 vacancies;
  • Amapá: 370 vacancies;
  • Amazonas: 1,519 vacancies;
