Workers over 50 years old increased

The data uses information from the Annual Social Information List (RAIS). They show that the increase in older workers was greater than the number of jobs created. After all, in the same period of analysis, the employment stock grew only 38.6%. That is, the growth of Brazilians over 50 working was 3 times greater than the number of formal jobs.

The great challenge highlighted by the experts is that these people may find it difficult to adapt to new technologies and dynamics, for example. Therefore, Senai claims that the government needs to study and apply measures to retrain workers over 50 years old.

The institution also shows that this increase observed until 2021 is a trend. The reasons for this are varied, but the need to supplement income is supposed to be the main factor.

Workers over 50 have more women

Most of the group of workers aged 50 is still male, but the participation of women has increased more than that of men. This is as true in commerce and services as it is in industry.
