Those responsible for the rescue got sick and believe that this has an explanation: the agents' contact, without proper protection, with the animals. This was considered a serious case, as they had never experienced anything like it.

The agents felt sick and complained of coughing and dizziness, as the odor of cat feces and urine was too strong. Unfortunately, they weren't prepared for what they were going to find. Anyway, the group fulfilled the call on East Broadway Avenue, in Girard, to a residence from which they had already removed about 76 cats.

Then, when they returned, agents had to remove about 13 cats from there again.

Unsuccessfully, the so-called “hoarders” still continue to reside in the house, living in an unhealthy way, without light and heating. From there, 89 cats were rescued, something that will cost the AWL dearly.

What do you know about accumulators?

A person is considered a hoarder when he has difficulty letting go, throwing away and getting rid of belongings that no longer serve him or are no longer useful. People with this disease have a house full of objects that are not useful, which attracts bugs and accumulates a lot of dirt.

Hoarding individuals exhibit the following symptoms:

  • They accumulate objects in all places in the house;
  • Is excessively afraid of running out of an item;
  • Feel that they cannot throw something in the trash, as they may need it in the future;
  • They look for new objects, even when they already have several of the same.

Do you know how to help?

There is nothing you can do to get the person out of this situation, as they will need professional help. Therefore, if you suspect that someone is a hoarder or knows of a serious case, you should report it to number 156.

After complaint, responsible professionals will pay a visit. With dialogue, they will try to convince the person to get rid of the objects kept, such as an old mattress, cardboard, plastic, toilet, shoes and other things.

In short, the person will get the support they need to deal with the situation.
