Professionals prefer the risk of unemployment to leaving the Home Office

Home office employment has been a great ally of the job market in recent years. Remote work models were offered in different categories and managed to maintain the number of hires and work activities.

Mainly, during the pandemic, companies maintained revenues by adopting remote work. This routine outside of face-to-face work influenced the quality of life and the plans of many people, and now employees say they would rather be out of a job than return to the face-to-face work system.

This statement, however, creates a divergence with the current hiring practice of companies that still prefer hybrid or face-to-face work models. Technology companies are encouraging a return to the face-to-face experience, as is the case with the Google, Facebook and Amazon.

Due to this reality, InfoJobs and Grupo Top RH carried out a survey with more than a thousand people to understand the preferences for the home office and the reasons for companies to hire in other models of work work.

Check the survey data.

The survey results show that, in Brazil, vacancies for face-to-face work are still the majority, with 94.82% of the market. However, the hybrid work model had a significant increase of 16.9%. Even so, 85% of employees said they would change jobs if the new option offered more home office days.

Another data that confirms the impact of the end of the home office is that 64.4% of people who returned to face-to-face work noticed a worsening in their quality of life, due to commuting. On the other hand, 14.2% state that their quality of life improved after their return.

Another Robert Half Human Resources survey noted that 39% of professionals would consider a new area of expertise if the company demanded the end of the home office, even if it was for partial work remote.

According to experts, the option to go against the will of employees is a measure to increase productivity and facilitate employee management. Some companies, like Google, say that the home office model is positive and works well, but that they now want employees to collaborate in person.

The best option for those who do not want to work in person

From the data, we realized that the home office modality is leaving the work scenario. However, the hybrid work model has increased and may be the best alternative for those who do not want to work every day at the company's headquarters.

In this way, it is possible to find vacancies that require the presence in the company only two or three times a week. According to Deives Rezende Filho, CEO of Condurú Consultoria, it is possible to solve problems in a few days, in addition, the practice promotes social interaction, avoiding feelings of loneliness.
