The corpse was partially buried, tied tightly and covered with its own clothes and some bedding, hidden behind a brick wall. A day after the preliminary analysis, the police confirmed that it was a woman. Just over a month after the discovery, it was determined that the woman was Caucasian, between 1.55 and 1.65 m tall, and sported dark brown hair. The woman also wore glasses.
Police believe she was between 30 and 55 years old when she died. It was also announced by the team that a type of “trauma” was found on her body, so the death is being treated as suspicious.
What is impressive is that the woman apparently died between 2009 and 2015, according to information provided by the police department, who have so far not been able to link the corpse to missing persons reports in Queensland or even across the whole of Australia.
Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham said the police are able to claim with a certain level of confidence that the body dates from at least November 2015, but that her death may have been years away previous. At most, until 2009.
They also believe the woman was found in the block she was living in at the time, but it has yet to be confirmed whether she was killed there or elsewhere. Finally, the police consider this investigation extremely complex. One of the biggest difficulties in unraveling the whole puzzle is identifying the victim correctly.
To make this possible, they are asking for help from people who may have some information.
