WHO warns: future harm from salt consumption compromises human health

Salt consumption is shortening human life and causing irreversible health risks. The new report from WHO (World Health Organization) indicates a need for reduction needed by 2025. Otherwise, the responses will be drastic and we will suffer terrible damage.

The recommendation for daily consumption is not to exceed five ranges, the equivalent of a spoonful of salt daily. The intake was found, on average, to be twice as indicated by the WHO, with 10.8 grams of daily intake worldwide. With the decrease in consumption, around seven million lives will be saved by 2030, as indicated by the WHO.

The published report guarantees that the ideal would be to reduce sodium consumption by 30%, with a deadline of 2025. If this does not happen, drastic deaths and without health repair alternatives will be normal, as guided by the WHO.

Salt consumption concerns the WHO

Salt is part of human consumption and is not prohibited, but the high amounts of the seasoning can cause damage to health, when consumed in excess, increasing the possibility of stroke (Cerebral Vascular Accident), premature death and diseases cardiovascular.

The WHO indicates that political leaders around the world can apply measures to reduce sodium consumption. Of the WHO participating countries, only 5% add alerts to salt consumption: Uruguay, Spain, Brazil, Chile, Lithuania, Malaysia, Czech Republic, Mexico and Saudi Arabia. That is, only 26% of the world's population are aware of their sodium intake.

reducing consumption

WHO warned about purchases that are made, and not directly have to do with sodium. They are foods that may contain high levels of salt, such as processed foods, making it necessary to establish a healthy diet as a basic rule.

The WHO indication is to ensure that sodium levels can appear on the product packaging and work with advertisements about the need to reduce salt.
