The objective of the study was to investigate young people's views and expectations regarding the future, which has been much discussed in the school context after the pandemic period. Incidentally, it is worth mentioning that the research was carried out in private schools and did not have the collaboration of public institutions.

Grupo Rabbit analyzed the perspectives of Generation Z in Brazil

Parents and guardians of students from Kindergarten and Elementary School I answered the questionnaire, while students from Elementary School II and High School shared their perspectives on how they see themselves at 40 years old, belonging to the Generation Z.

The priorities identified in the survey remained consistent across the different groups studied. “Quality of life and physical and mental well-being”, “Having passion for what you do” and “Remuneration and financial peace of mind” were considered as the three main priorities in common.

The perception regarding the priority of “Contributing to a better Brazil” showed variations. While parents classified this issue as the fourth priority, Elementary School II students placed it in seventh place, and High School students placed it only in ninth place.

This difference in perception suggests a possible change in values and interests as students progress through the educational stages. In addition, the item “Caring for or improving the lives of others” was also ranked as a lower priority by respondents.

The survey organizers were surprised to find a reduction in social interaction among children and adolescents interviewed in the survey.

According to the survey, 47% of elementary and high school students dedicate their time to networks social activities mainly to communication, while the majority, representing 53%, adopt a behavior passive.

According to the CEO of the Rabbit Group, Christian Coelho, in an interview with CNN Rádio, the research revealed that the expectations regarding generation Z were that they had greater empathy.

However, he stressed that young people should not be blamed, but rather consider the influence of social and economic pressure, especially in a period of crisis and post-pandemic.

The CEO highlighted in the interview that the revelation was alarming in terms of communication. Gen Z has minimal social interaction and most spend their time just listening and watching.

For Coelho, this lack of social interaction does not meet the social needs of young people and can have a significant impact on their mental health. Studies indicate that those who have difficulty relating may have higher levels of stress, anxiety, depression and aggression.
