Mars began to produce chocolates in an artisanal way
The founder was frank mars, who began to produce chocolates in an artisanal way, in 1911, as informed by the
South China Morning Post. The Mars family patriarch began sales of the candy in Washington, reaching peak financial results in 1929.
He married Ethel and they had forrest jr., the eldest son, later acquired a car and two vacation homes. The family continued activities as a candy company, then creating the first cereal-bar-like chocolate, launching Milky Way and Snickers.
In 1929, success began to grow and the couple's son, Forrest Jr., took over the company. He founded his own company in England and received the recipe based on M&Ms and Twix, the family's true acknowledgments. In 1934, they acquired a dog food company in the UK.
The family's reign has grown since then and it has a strong name in the pet food market, such as Whiskas, Pedigree and Royal Canin. In 1964, Forrest returned to the United States and merged the company with his father's after becoming the father of three children. Forrest's children inherited the company in 2016 when he passed away.
Despite assuming the position of the third richest family in the US, they all live a life away from the media and away from the focus of publicity.
