A BMW officially presented its latest electric motorcycle, the BMWEC 02. With a futuristic design and focused on the urban environment, the motorcycle was developed to arouse the interest of young people.
The EC 02 concept sits between scooters and conventional motorcycles. According to BMW, it doesn't specifically fall into any of the categories, but it is an "eParkourer".

Although it is a renowned brand all over the world, the highlight goes to the fact that the bike is light, reaches a maximum speed of 95 km/h and have an affordable price within the category where BMW fits: US$ 7,599.
The CE 02 is the brand's cheapest electric motorcycle, offering an interesting alternative for getting around. Although it doesn't have the same capacity as a scooter, with larger batteries, the CE 02 brings unique features that make it attractive to young people.

According to Edgar Heinrich, Head of Design at BMW Motorrad, the CE 02 was carefully designed as a “bicycleof urban leisure”.
“With the CE 02, we are looking for something completely new and we want to be pioneers once again. With unique proportions and an impressive design, the CE 02 has a youthful and uncomplicated style of urban mobility. The streamlined design language emphasizes lightness and fun. Our focus goes beyond utility, valuing also the emotional appeal, the pleasure of piloting and ease of use, almost intuitive”, says Heinrich.
Weighing just 132 kg, the bike has a pair of batteries with a total capacity of around 3.92 kWh, with each of them containing just under 2 kWh. In addition, it has an 11 kW engine, considered powerful for this model.
The process of recharging the batteries is similar to that of an electric bicycle, using an external level 1 charger. A full charge takes approximately five hours with a standard 0.9 kW charger or three hours and 30 minutes with a 1.5 kW charger.
The BMW CE 02 has a rear arm, inverted front fork, disc-style cast wheels, no-start key, adjustable handbrake levers, reverse gear and a USB-C port for charging devices such as cell phones.
With the CE 02, BMW aims to offer an attractive and affordable electric mobility option for young people, combining modern design, powerful performance and ease of use.
