Other security mechanisms at Brazilian airports
France also announced other security measures that will be implemented at airports, such as x-rays and body scanners, cameras at check-in, liquid and explosive detectors, and, finally, the restriction on the use of cell phones by employees.
That's because, according to the minister, organized crime operates in some areas of the airport, and gang leaders use contact with these professionals. Without the cell phone, they have no access to the internal areas of the airports.
At this first moment, as a test phase, the measures will start to take place in the Guarulhos' airport, in São Paulo, which is the largest in Brazil.
The investment in security in this case will be R$ 40 million. After that, other airports considered “key” for implementation will be studied, until all Brazilian units are reached.
Márcio França talks about tickets at R$ 200
Also during the interview, the minister clarified how the Voa Brasil program will work, which will offer tickets for R$ 200 from August this year.
According to him, the Government will create an application so that citizens can register through the CPF. Thus, the idea is to fill the seats that are usually idle on flights. Each person is entitled to 4 tickets in the year, each at R$ 200.
In addition, he made it clear that there is a chance for “low cost” companies to come to Brazil, to operate at lower rates, as they do not offer the same services as companies that already operate here.
