Federal Lottery players will have to spend more money to make a “female” from the end of April. This is because Caixa Econômica Federal, the bank that controls this activity in the country, announced an increase in bet values.
According to preliminary information, the bank decided to readjust the value of bets due to inflationary variations. The announcement took many punters by surprise and raised questions about other possible reasons for the changes.

Among these questions, there is the doubt about whether the increase in the value of bets will also increase the value of prizes, since more money will be raised by Caixa.
Although there is no official statement from the bank on the subject, it is likely that the premiums will increase, once that the amounts delivered to the winners of the drawings are calculated based on the amount collected in each contest.
The new stakes
According to a statement sent by Caixa to lottery owners, the increases in bets will take effect on April 30 for Mega-Sena, Quina, Lotofácil and Lotomania.
Timemania and Dia de Sorte, two less popular games, will only have their stakes adjusted from May 3 onwards.
These are the new suggested values:
- Mega-Sena: from BRL 4.50 to BRL 5.00 (starting from contest 2588);
- Lotofácil: from BRL 2.50 to BRL 3.00 (as of tender 2801);
- Quina: from BRL 2.00 to BRL 2.50 (as of tender 6138);
- lotomania: from BRL 2.50 to BRL 3.00 (as of tender 2462);
- timemania: from BRL 3.00 to BRL 3.50 (from the 1932 contest onwards);
- Lucky day: from BRL 2.00 to BRL 2.50 (starting from contest 753).
