Caixa will start charging for Pix in PJ accounts from July 19th

O pix is an instant transfer system developed by the Central Bank (BC). Launched in 2020, it allows people and companies to transfer money quickly, securely and available 24 hours a day, every day of the week, including holidays.

Unlike traditional transfer methods, PIX does not depend on intermediaries, such as banks, to convert transactions.

As of July 19, Caixa Econômica Federal will update the tariff system for legal entities that use the PIX, as approved by the Central Bank.

This measure is defined with the practice of charging fees adopted by most banks for business transactions in the instant transfer system.

Caixa Econômica will charge Pix from legal entities

Previously, Caixa did not charge fees for using Pix for legal entities. However, the decision to implement this charge seeks to align with market practices and ensure the sustainability of the service.

Along with the announcement, Caixa denied false news that circulated on the internet last Monday, 19. Along with the novelty, many customers thought that Pix's tariff charge would also be for individuals, but the bank warned that it will only be for legal entities.

The institution decided that the charge applies only to legal entities, and that individuals, micro-entrepreneurs Individuals (MEI) and beneficiaries of social programs will continue to use the instant transfer, without charging tariffs.

Caixa showed that the rate applied to corporate accounts will be among the lowest offered by the market. With this, they reaffirmed their commitment to offering customers the best conditions for their products and services, seeking to remain competitive and meet the needs of companies.

The fee will be charged in this way.

Pix purchase: charge with 0.89% of the total value of the operation, with a minimum value of R$ 1.00 and a maximum value of R$ 130.00.

Pix Checkout: charge with 1.20% of the total transaction, with a minimum value of R$1 and a maximum value of R$130.

Pix Transfer: charge with 0.89% of the total transaction, with a minimum value of R$ 1.00 and a maximum value of R$ 8.50.
