Currently, natural disaster warnings are already issued via text message (SMS) by the Civil Defense of each state and municipality to our cell phones. However, with the great popularity of WhatsApp, it is possible to reach an increasing number of people.
The purpose of natural disaster alerts is to make the population more aware of the risk of these accidents. Thus, with this greater understanding, severe crises are also prevented.
In this way, warnings are issued by Civil Defense teams through the Public Alert Disclosure Interface (IDAP) platform. This system is managed by the National Civil Defense.
Natural disaster alerts are sent thanks to the partnership between the Ministry of Regional Development, WhatsApp and Robbu (communications automation company). Therefore, messages about crossing streets, avenues, bridges, flooding, landslides and others are provided by the agency.
Brazil is the first country to have the natural disaster alert service through WhatsApp. If you wish to receive notices, you must register on the platform.
