During adolescence, many psychological and physiological changes occur in boys' bodies and they are controlled by two hormones produced by the anterior pituitary: o follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) it's the luteinizing hormone (LH). These hormones can also be called gonadotropins because they act on the gonads (in this case, the testicles, which stimulate their functioning and development).
In men, the main sex hormone is the testosterone, produced by interstitial cells of the testicle, also called Leydig cells. The one responsible for stimulating the production of this hormone is LH, also called in man as interstitial cell stimulating hormone (ICSH).
THE testosterone it is a hormone produced in the embryonic stage and its presence in the embryo will determine the development of the male sexual organs. The determination of sex takes place in the embryonic stage, when there is an absence of testosterone, or even the lack of target cells in the embryo's cells.
The ICSH hormone stimulates the testis interstitial cell to produce
testosterone, which reinforces the action of the FSH hormone during spermatogenesis and determines the appearance of secondary male sexual characteristics, such as beard, hair (with different distribution in relation to the women's body), deepening of the voice, greater development of muscles and bones.THE testosterone it is also the hormone responsible for the development of Organs genitals, descent from the testicles to the scrotum, in addition to promoting the sexual drive.
