Google implements innovative feature in Google Photos

Google Photos has just released an update that promises to give users more control and creativity when editing their photos. The novelty allows any image in the library to be transformed into a cinematic photo, with a cinematic zoom effect similar to three-dimensional, further highlighting the main focus of the Photograph.

Before, the decision of which photos would receive the effect was in the hands of Google. However, the new improved version of the feature allows users to convert any photo into a cinematic photo, which is saved as a short video clip alongside the original image.

The functionality was introduced in 2020 and updated in 2022, but now users have the power to create cinematic photos on demand, which promises to further enrich the memories recorded in the photos.

Learn how the new Google Photos update works

With this update, users will be able to choose the photos they want to apply the cinematic effect, allowing them to tell stories by integrating these selected photos into more long.

In addition, the new cinematic photos maintain their original aspect ratio and are presented in up to 4K resolution instead of 1080p. This update makes the feature a useful tool for users, allowing them to create true masterpieces with their photographs.

Prior to the update, Google Photos applied the cinematic effect randomly and infrequently to photos that users had chosen.

How to use the new features of Google Photos

To use the feature, just open the Google Photos app, go to the Library tab and tap the Utilities button. The option to create a cinematic shot will appear under the section called “Create New”.

The user can select a single image and adjust the slider below to choose how long they want the animation to last. Then just tap "Save" and you're done.

It's worth noting that the first time the feature is used, a separate 30MB download is required, indicating that it works as a new plugin component of the Google Photos app.

This means that some of the processing required to create cinematic photographs has been moved from the servers of the Google for the local device, which may affect the speed of the resource depending on the processing power of the device.

With this novelty, Google Photos offers users a new way to create creative and interesting content for their social networks. Try it out now and wow your followers with amazing cinematic photos!
