According to the study, it was found that 77% of Americans between the ages of 35 and 54 expressed a desire to go back to that time before the age of connection intense, when the internet and smartphones were not as widely accessible as they are now.
This percentage was the highest among all surveyed demographics, highlighting this age group's preference for a simpler, less technology-dependent era.
Generation Z and Millennials would like to live without the internet
The research also revealed that, even among the youngest interviewees, who do not have direct experience with a world before the internet or social media, most wouldn't mind returning to an era without
technology.Of participants aged between 18 and 34, 63% agreed with the idea, while only 37% disagreed.
On the other hand, baby boomers (over 55) were slightly less willing to go back in time, with 60% expressing this preference.
Interestingly, Americans from an even narrower demographic, ages 35 to 54, who have clearest memories of the pre-Internet era, showed the greatest inclination (77%) to return to a period before widespread connectivity digital.
In contrast, only about 23% to 25% of respondents seem to be fully satisfied with the current situation, believing that things are perfectly fine the way they are.
Apparently, these individuals are more nostalgic and like to remember times when the world was different, comparing it to what it has become today.
