A recent study conducted by WordFinderX used data from the Goodreads platform, where 125 million readers share their opinions, to rank the best-reviewed books in 132 countries around the world globe.

Books with at least 500 reviews were considered, and the objective was to identify the most loved works in different parts of the world. See the amazing results!

North America

According to this survey, the most praised book in North Americais “Words of Radiance”, by acclaimed American science fiction and fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson.

This work is the second volume of an epic series composed of ten books, entitled “Stormlight Archive”, which addresses themes such as politics, war, race, religion, secret conspiracies, murders and gods.

Europe

At Europe, the best-evaluated title belongs to “The Botanist”, by the British writer MW Craven. The author is recognized for his series of detective novels starring Detective Sergeant Washington Poe.

Africa

On the African continent, two national books stand out tied for first place, with an average rating of 4.52 points: “Dear Ijeawele, or a Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions”, by the renowned Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and “The African Origin of Civilization: Myth or Reality”, written in 1974 by the Senegalese author Cheikh Anta diop.

Asia and Oceania

Top of the list in Asia is occupied by the series of books “Arkitek Jalanan”, by the Malaysian writer Teme Abdullah, which tells of his life as an architecture student in London.

And finally, in Oceania, the most acclaimed book is “Look What You Made Me Do: Power, Control and Domestic Violence”, by investigative journalist Jess Hill.

South America

At South America, the highest-rated title on Goodreads is “Wij slaven van Suriname” (We Slaves of Suriname), by Surinamese writer, activist and resistance leader Anton de Kom.

Published in 1934, this masterpiece explores the history of colonial Suriname and highlights the region's intense racism and the effects of colonialism.

Another classic that won an excellent position is “Conversa na Catedral”, by the renowned Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa.

Brazil

In our country, the best-evaluated book is “Arlindo”, by the author Luiza de Souza. It is a comic book that tells the life of the boy who gives the book its name, a young man full of dreams who tirelessly seeks his place in the world.
