A Brazilian Olympics Mathematics of Public Schools (OBMEP) reaches its 18th edition this year. For candidates, registration must be made by March 17, both for public and private schools, accepting students from the 6th year of elementary school.
Since 2005, the Mathematics Olympiad has been aimed at Brazilian schools in a competition organized by the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (Impa).

Enade 2023: Registration available until July 31st
Promoted by the Ministry of Education (MEC) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and supported by Sociedade Brazilian Society of Mathematics (SBM), the competition promotes and encourages scientific mathematical studies in schools Brazilian. The main objective is to encourage the teaching of mathematics in private and public schools, seeking to reach young people who can have their skills developed.
OBMEP 2023
In addition to stimulating mathematics in basic education, OBMEP is also important to promote quality during basic education. The objective is to identify young people who need to be encouraged to access the academic field, always aiming at scientific research in the area. The academic environment is indispensable for the growing educational area.
Institutions, by promoting the importance of OBMEP, become responsible for valuing and improving mathematics in school education. This is a bridge created between public schools and universities, as well as creating a relationship between the field of research and society since the early years of elementary school II.
Candidate students will be recognized with gold, silver and bronze medals, entitled to honorable mention and also compete for scientific initiation scholarships if they win the competition. The winning schools will win current teaching materials and trophies. Teachers will have access to certification and specific mathematics material.
