Capes announces the organization of teacher training events

On the last May 24th, the Capes (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel) released the announcement of the Support Program for Events in the Country for Basic Education.

Through this initiative, proposals from institutions linked to programs or courses for initial or continued teacher training will be selected.

According to Capes, event projects will be aimed at academic, technological and scientific areas. The proposal also suggests extension courses for the continuing education of teachers.

The event will run until the 14th of July, with registration scheduled for the 1st of June through the system.

For this event, the public notice has a total value of R$ 1 million destined to finance the events.

As disclosed by Capes, the transfer of financial resources will take into account the size of the events. For small events, with up to 200 participants, the transfer amount ranges from R$50,000 to R$90,000.

Capes allocates funds for teacher training course

Medium-sized events, with the presence of 201 to 600 participants, may receive between R$70,000 and R$120,000. The large events, with more than 600 participants, will have available a transfer of resources between R$ 100 thousand and R$ 160 thousand.

According to information provided by Capes, the notice offers support to face-to-face or semi-presential events that will take place in the country during the period from October 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.

In addition, according to the established guidelines, the events covered by the notice may have different scopes. They can be regional, with the participation of individuals from at least two states in the same region.

They can also be national in nature, involving speakers from at least two regions of the country. In addition, there is the possibility of events with an international scope, which bring together speakers from two or more countries.

Capes informed that the resources made available by the notice can be used to cover expenses related to the tickets and lodging of the speakers, production of materials and contracting of services of support.
