The city of Rio de Janeiro is offering vacancies for a free caregiver course until next Thursday, the 20th. Applications are open to residents of the city and refugees can also apply. The course teaches care techniques, such as bathing, changing clothes and caring for bedridden people
According to the Annual Social Information Report (RAIS) of the Ministry of Labor, the amount of caregivers grew by more than 500%, from 2007 to 2017, going from 5,263 to more than 34,000 professionals in area. This increase in professionals in the area is related to the aging of the Brazilian population.

Free Caregiver Course in Rio de Janeiro
The study days are being offered by Eletrobras Furnas, in partnership with the Brazilian Center for Cooperation and Exchange of Social Services. This is an opportunity for people over 18 years of age to gain access to the job market through training.
It is also a measure to add to the population of Rio de Janeiro an improved perspective for getting the first job, offering the city's residents and refugees a new opportunity. In addition, competition in the job market does not allow these chances to be taken advantage of, which is why it is important to take advantage of the free place on the course.
Currently, the course has already professionalized 4,100 people free of charge, who were inserted in the market. The course has a total workload of 160 hours and will take place between May 2nd and June 29th of this year, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8am to 12pm, in the Méier district.
Those interested must be over 18 years old and have completed elementary school. Until next Thursday, the 20th, candidates can apply through from this link, only some basic personal information is required. In order to obtain the final certificate, the student must attend 75% of classes.
